About

I was born into a jeweler's family.

My grandfather, Sam, started a jewelry company in 1946. J.B. Jewelry Company started down on the Bowery of NYC, selling second hand jewelry bought at auction houses. As he worked and accumulated more, he moved uptown to a booth (and later, an office) on 47th street – the hub of NY’s diamond district. He was in business for decades, and it eventually became a family affair, with my uncle joining the business in the 70's. Sam was an honest and well respected business man who bought and sold diamonds well into his nineties.

As time went on, his business was solely diamonds. But, often times, he came across people who needed to turn their jewelry into cash or acquired gold jewelry in exchange for a debt that someone owed him. Sam always had an eye for beautiful things and grew quite a collection. One of the countless benefits of being his granddaughter, was that he would then bring his curated jewelry collection to us and I was allowed to sift through it and take what I liked. This is where my love of vintage, gold jewelry came from.

After graduating from a small liberal arts college as a fine arts major, my first job was with a boutique diamond company that focused in large white diamonds and colored diamonds. I also worked for a global sight holder and diamond manufacturing company for many years.

I finally took this lifelong love of diamonds and vintage jewelry and created C&B Vintage Jewelry, LLC (named after my beloved rescue dogs Cody & Beau). I am so happy to be able to follow in my grandfather’s footsteps and create my own curated jewelry collection and bring it to you. If we can save beautiful, vintage jewelry from being destroyed, help preserve our planet (did you know that gold mining harms the environment through the destruction of the ecosystem and contaminates drinking water, among other things) and look hip while doing it, then why not?

So, thank you for being here and happy shopping!
